AutoCAD (all versions) Introduction (2 days)
Draughting Tools – Use Lines, Polygons, Circles and Arcs to build up drawings from scratch
Keyboard shortcuts –
Learn time-saving methods to speed up your input and simplify drawing creation
Remove drawing repetition – Create Blocks from standard and commonly used elements. These can then be re-used to save draughting time
Draw with precision – Use Absolute and Relative co-ordinates, Ortho and OSnap to produce accurate drawings
Modify and manipulate drawing elements – Mirror, Copy and Move elements to new positions. Lengthen lines, Rotate and Scale elements to reflect changes in design. Use Trim and Extend to neaten drawings
View your drawing – Learn how to use the Zooming and Panning tools to view your drawing in detail
Understand Layers – Create drawings with elements on specific layers to facilitate assembly and dimensioning
Dimension your drawings – Learn different techniques of dimensioning, dimension modification and setting up dimension styles
Save and print drawings – Print drawings and views using viewports. Understand Model and Paper space and use them to produce details and scrap sections.
AutoCAD Advanced with 3D
3D Draughting Tools –
Use Primitives (cylinders, boxes, spheres and cones) to build up 3D drawings from scratch.
Sculpturing 3D solids – Adding and subtracting solids to create holes, fillet and chamfer solids to add detail to your 3D solid model.
The UCS (User Co-ordinate System) - Create and use UCS to make 3D draughting simpler and quicker.
View your 3D model –Learn how to use the View toolbar, Isometric and Orthogonal views to view your drawing in detail.
Use the Hide command to remove unwanted detail from your 3D views.
Use the 3D orbit view to rotate 3D models in real time.
Interference Checking – Make sure your solids do not clash or overlap with the built-in interference checking facility in AutoCAD.
Keyboard shortcuts – Learn timesaving methods to speed up your input and simplify drawing creation.
